2024 Long Tailfeather Competition

Oct. 12th - 31st

Join us in celebrating our state’s favorite fall tradition by bringing your longest tail feather to one of our member agencies. In addition to state-wide bragging rights, 2 shotguns are up for grabs.

How it works:

Who can enter?

Any South Dakota hunter with a valid hunting license

Prizes:

Adult (15+): Beretta A400 Xplor, 28 gauge ($1,849) Child: (14 and under): Winchester SX3 Compact ($1,000)

What we're looking for:

The longest single rooster tail-feather. Can be a family heirloom or one shot this season
